Description

The Joint Pathology Center houses the world's largest collection of human tissue slides (60+ Million) and blocks (30+ Million), an archive that sprung forth from the 1862 establishment of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology into the present-day repository marvel spanning over 100 years of military medicine. In recent years, the JPC has begun the momentous work of digitizing the AFIP archive material, producing whole slide images for posterity while creating digital substrates for computational interrogation. Most importantly, the confluence of this digital transformation along with the advent of the AI and genomic age affords the one-of-a-kind opportunity to leverage deep learning and unlock new insights that will impact Warfighter Readiness and optimum health.   Come with us as we dig deep inside the Joint Pathology Center's digital transformation journey towards unlocking Warfighter Precision Health!
