As the military prepares for future operational environments, coalition partnerships are vital for our collective defense and protection of the forces. This panel, moderated by CAPT Peter Roberts, the USINDOPACOM Command Surgeon, explores the importance of developing and nurturing coalition partnerships to bolster our collective medical readiness, resilience, and interoperability. Senior leaders from Japan and the Philippines will also share their perspectives on how enhanced partnership can prepare us to address the evolving regional security environment, the rising risk of large-scale combat operations, and the persistent threats posed by disasters and health emergencies. The session will conclude with an open forum to address audience inquiries.
Panel Objectives:
- Review the critical role of collaboration in advancing health security and operational readiness across the lndo-Pacific region.
- Discuss the impact of the evolving security environment (e.g, geopolitics, persistent health threats, etc.) on medical planning and operational requirements and how partnerships mitigate some of the risks associated with that environment.
- Analyze challenges (i.e. medical equipment/supplies) to develop approaches (or strategies) for a collaborative response to persistent threats.
