Name
#149 - Recurrence of eumycetoma on the forefoot in a young village resident from Sudan
Date & Time
Monday, February 12, 2024, 12:00 PM
Description

We present a case about a patient who was presented through our tropical dermatology consultation at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine due to a recurrence of a nodule on the right forefoot, which was diagnosed as an eumycetoma. Considering the comprehensive findings after diverse therapeutical approaches, it can be inferred that the recurrence of eumycetoma caused by Madurella mycetomatis was a result of primary surgical excision without accompanying antifungal therapy.
