Learning Outcomes
1. Surgeons should be suspicious for VOA and expedite patient surgical hemorrhage control in trauma patients with suspected pelvic fractures and continued hypotension despite non-surgical intervention
2. Estimations of VOA may be lower than the true prevalence in the general population
3. VOAs are common arterial abnormalities that present as a significant additional risk for iatrogenic complication or traumatic exsanguination in patients undergoing pelvic surgery or injury.
