Date & Time

Description

Dr. Friesen will host a discussion with Dr. Jen Gunter - known as Twitter's gynecologist, where she has more than 350 thousand followers. Dr. Jen Gunter is a fierce advocate for women’s health whose mission is to build a better medical Internet. She is the host of the TED podcast Body Stuff and of the streaming docuseries Jensplaining, and she’s also the author of the best-selling books The Vagina Bible and more recently the Menopause Manifesto. In this session she will talk about what menopause is, how menopause is not a disease despite it sometimes being depicted in such a way and also why many women feel unprepared upon entering menopause and why this is a problem. 'It's very easy to say you're solving a problem, it's very easy to say that you have a natural solution but the way you fill a gap that we have in menopause is providing women with high quality medical care that's proven to be safe and effective.' For High Reliability Discussion: Dr. Deb Friesen will host a panel session on how to create a culture of safety and the sharing of best practices for creating a psychologically safe culture. Note: Once all submissions are entered - Cassandra Davis and Stacie can determine the best topic for the 2024 session.
