Description

Dental restorative materials ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE®, GC Fuji II LC® resin modified glass ionomer, GC Fuji IX GP® EXTRA glass ionomer, and 3M® Filtek® Supreme Ultra restorative resin composite, were prepared for flexural testing according to ISO 4049:2000 (E) 7.11 Flexural Strength Class 2 Group 2 materials. Results and possible applications of materials based on results and bioactive or non-bioactive abilities are discussed.

Learning Outcomes
The objective of this project is to assess the relative flexural characteristics of four commercially available restoration composites. Following this session, the attendee will be able to understand the difference between traditional and bioactive restorative materials. Following this session, the attendee able to select and utilize the most appropriate material for restorative dentistry.
