Many youths take pride in being part of a military-connected family. However, the source of their pride may involve unique circumstances and challenges that can impact their mental health. Mental health stands as a crucial issue on a national scale and ensuring the welfare of young people ranks as a foremost concern for the U.S. Surgeon General. This presentation will focus into the correlation between parental military service and the mental health of military-connected youth. It will also explore the various risks they face as well as available resources aimed at providing support for their overall well-being.
