Description

Amidst the rapidly evolving operations in, from and to the Space domain, and as we become a space faring species, numerous challenges present themselves to medical operations as we endeavor to ensure safe and successful missions. While the Office of the Air Force Surgeon General’s USSF Medical Operations Directorate has a Congressionally directed role focused on military medical responsibilities to the Air Force and Space Force, as a DoD we also have a responsibility to ensure Space is a safe domain for civilian, commercial, exploratory endeavors. These National responsibilities drive international partnerships and present challenges for medical operations in peace time as well as during contested and contingency scenarios. Challenges and potential courses of action have bearing on the whole of Federal Health Professionals.
