Janet Sprehe is a national Sim LEARN faculty member, the VISN 8 Simulation Champion, the Program Director for the Simulations and Recusation Education Initiative (REdI), the Director of SLICE, and the Co-Director of the Advanced Fellowship in Clinical Simulation. Dr. Sprehe has held a variety of roles with the VHA for more than 36 years. Throughout her professional career, she has worked as a staff nurse, nurse manager, nurse educator, nurse practitioner, and consultant for legal counsel. She continues to have qualifications in adult nurse practitioner, cardiovascular nursing, and medical surgical nursing. Additionally, she teaches trauma nurse core courses, ACLS/BLS, and End-of-Life nursing. In addition to being an adjunct faculty member at several local university nursing colleges lecturing with a focus on pharmacology and research, Additionally, Dr. Sprehe has been innovative with developing new methodologies for providing instruction to staff.
